Gucci drives overall sale at French luxury group Kering in Q1

Kering's bright star, Gucci, drove performance in the first quarter of the year, as the group record sales in line with analysts estimates.

Even though he company recorded sales growth of 36.9% in 2018 and 44.6% in 2017, revenue grew 17.5%, totalling revenues for the first quarter to amount 3.79 billions.



According to FT, after years of exceptional growth, Gucci is now in a phase of normalisation of this growth, that its parent company, Kering, announced to the market.

In any case, Gucci is the top performer amongst Kering's brand portfolios: other owned brand of the group are not performing as profitably as Gucci, such as Bottega Veneta, which dropped 8.9% in sales in the first quarter of the year.
