Almost 1B dollars have been raised in order to rebuild Paris' Notre Dame Cathedral

"Stephane Bern, presidential cultural heritage envoy, told France Info that about €880 million (about $995 million) had been raised as of Wednesday, the AP reports. The bulk of the money has been promised by France’s wealthiest individuals and companies"
Two of the biggest donations come from two French families in the fashion luxury business. François-Henri Pinault, the 56 year-old C.E.O. of Paris-based luxury goods group Kering, which owns brands like Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, and his Family announced a donation of around 113 million dollars and Bernard Arnault and his family, owners of the luxury conglomerate LVMH, announced a donation of 226 million dollars.
